Pre-opening checklist
Everything to have in place before your first guest
Sixteen items across the four phases of an opening. Written for Malaysia, adaptable to any property — and honest about the order things have to happen in.
9–6 months out
- Department list and station map for the whole property
- Which standards are brand-mandated, which are local
- Languages your opening team will actually work in
- Regulator obligations for the market, dated
6–3 months out
- Capture sessions with your opening heads of department
- Sequences written for the stations that open first
- Emergency mode configured before staff arrive
- Induction standards ready for the first hiring wave
3 months to opening
- Standards validated and loaded, QR plan per station
- Trainers briefed on the station app, not on binders
- Pre-opening trials: are the steps followed without asking?
- Compliance evidence trail switched on
Opening week and day one
- Every station covered by QR, in every floor language
- Aisop answering from approved SOPs only
- First Standard Score baseline taken and shared
- Review queue live so the floor can flag what breaks
Pre-opening projects
Build the standards during the fit-out
Pre-opening is the only time you can write standards without fighting a live operation. We work backwards from opening day.
SOPhero turns rules into operating steps. It is not legal advice.
